The town of Blowing Rock’s unique location offers breathtaking views of not one but two gorges – John’s River Gorge to the west and Blackberry Gorge to the east as well as many charming neighborhoods with simple mountain cottages and cabins next door to grand mountain estates.
The town park is the heart of the village and Broyhill Park adjoins with its walking paths around the lake while more adventurous hiking can be found just steps from Main Street down the Glen Burney Trail. The very walkable downtown has great shopping with numerous specialty shops and great restaurant choices.
Residential areas are tucked away off Main Street for walk-to-town convenience in areas such as Mayview, Laurel Park, Echo Park, and Morningside, and on the south and east ends of town, neighborhoods such as Wonderland Woods, Green Hill, Pinnacle Avenue, and Gideon Ridge offer scenic views and proximity to the Blowing Rock Country Club and golf course. Within 5-8 miles of the city limits, there are also well-established neighborhoods in areas such as Misty Mountain, The Forest, Sweetgrass, Ansley Heights, Greystone I & II, Laurel Hills, Crestview, and Yonahlossee Resort.
