Special Events in Blowing Rock

Blowing Rock is home to a number of annual festivals and events including Art in the Park, a monthly summertime (May-Oct) event on Park Avenue in downtown Blowing Rock; the Independence Day festival and parade; Blowing Rock Winterfest in January; Christmas in the Park and Lighting of the Town festivities, including a Holiday Parade; the Symphony by the Lake at Chetola Resort; and the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show which has been a tradition for over 80 years. It is the longest continuously run horse show in the United States. 

Things to do in Blowing Rock

Some of the town's attractions include: Blowing Rock Art & History Museum, the vast outdoor recreation opportunities including miles of trails on the Blue Ridge Parkway and Moses H. Cone Memorial Park, preserved country estate with a hilltop mansion once owned by denim magnate, Moses Cone. In town there is a trail from Annie Cannon Gardens leading to Glen Burney and Glen Marie waterfalls a short but steep hike that is very popular during the summer months.
